More transparency for Ipswich Council

New Ipswich mayor Andrew Antoniolli is promising more accountability to rate payers.

Newly-elected Ipswich mayor Andrew Antoniolli admits the council had "dropped the ball" when it came to transparency and accountability to ratepayers.

The southeastern Queensland council has agreed to sell three of its four companies and reinstate a code of conduct for elected representatives.

Mr Antoniolli said on Thursday councillors' public interest registers would also be made easier to find online, admitting there was a perception they had been deliberately hidden.
